What is different about Qatar that they wont race in the rain there? They will run in the rain everywhere else.

They race at night there because during the day, the track gets way too hot. So at night with the floodlights all on the track, there is way too much glare reflecting off the water and it becomes too dangerous.

Also it’s been dry on most of the track with huge puddles in places, so in dry tires you’ll lose it on the lakes and if you run wets they’ll tear themselves apart on the dry parts of the track.
I also wonder what effect the lack of sun has, water will linger for a lot longer than they’re used to.
